Faster drying and settling, high fineness and improved coverage for everyday building work.

High supportive strength for structures that need to carry more and last longer.
Choose what you are building to see which grade usually suits the work.
Foundations, walls, floor slabs and plastering make up most of a typical house build. A general-purpose cement handles all of these.
Multi-storey buildings need higher early strength for columns, beams and suspended slabs, while blockwork and finishes can use a general-purpose grade.
Heavy-load and high-rise work calls for cement with high supportive strength, used to an engineer’s specification.
Small jobs like patching, screeds, paving and plastering benefit from a fine, workable cement that spreads well.
General guidance only. Always follow your engineer’s specification.

Store cement on pallets in a covered, dry place, away from walls, so moisture can’t reach it.
Use older bags first. Cement is best used fresh, so plan deliveries around your build schedule.
Too much water weakens concrete. Add just enough for a workable mix.
Keep fresh concrete damp by spraying or covering it, so it gains full strength.
Dirt and clay in aggregates reduce strength. Wash or screen them before mixing.
Wear gloves, boots and goggles. Wash off wet cement quickly to avoid burns.

The number is the strength class: the minimum compressive strength in megapascals at 28 days. 42.5N is stronger and is used for specialized, heavy-load work. 32.5R is a general-purpose cement, and the “R” means rapid early strength.
Most home building, including foundations, walls, slabs and plaster, uses a general-purpose cement like Simba Cement 32.5R. For suspended slabs, columns or multi-storey work, follow your engineer’s specification.
Cement is best used within about three months of packing. Keep it dry, covered and off the ground, and use older bags first.
